Morris N. Nilsen II, Funeral Director

Morris N. Nilsen II is President of Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel and the third generation of the Nilsen family to lead the company. He led the expansion of the chapel’s facilities in 1985 and 1987. Morrie served as President of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association in 1999–2000 and has served in leadership roles in civic and church organizations and as a member of several nonprofit boards.

John E. Pose, Funeral Director
B.S. Mortuary Science, University of Minnesota, 1975
John joined the staff of Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel in 1992. A native of Iowa, he has served on several committees and task forces of the Minnesota Funeral Directors Association.

Barth A. Humlie, Funeral Director
Mortuary Science, Worsham College, 1978
Barth has been a member of the Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel staff since 1983. He is licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin. He is a former Wisconsin resident and a long-time Burnsville resident and is active in church and community activities.

Todd J. Davidson, Funeral Director

Todd joined the staff of Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel in 1999. A native of St. Paul, he had also worked with our staff while attending the university in the early 1990s.
Steven G. Pierson, Funeral Director
B.S. Mortuary Science, University of Minnesota, 1995
Steve began with Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel as a student intern in 1993 and has been a member of our licensed staff since 1995. He is a graduate of Richfield High School and a long-time resident of the community.

Kelsey Spandl, Funeral Director
B.S. Mortuary Science, University of Minnesota, 2010
Kelsey joined Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel full time in 2010 after graduating from the University of Minnesota with her Mortuary Science degree. She spent the previous year at Morris Nilsen as a live-in student. She graduated from Lakeville High School in 2006 and is currently a resident of Edina, Minnesota.
Erica M. Nilsen Eide, Funeral Directors’ Assistant
A.A.S. Interior Design, Dakota County, 2006
Erica, a member of the fourth generation of the Nilsen family, has worked for Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel since 1999, performing administrative and building maintenance duties. Today, she assists the funeral directors at funeral, memorial, and graveside services.

Bonnie Erickson, Administrative Assistant
A.A.S. Paralegal, University of Minnesota, 1981
Bonnie joined Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel in 2009, assisting the directors in administrative duties. She is a long-time resident of Richfield.
