Carolyn Elaine Conner, age 67, of Richfield, MN went to Heaven, January 22, 2012. Carolyn, the daughter of Alfred
and Elaine, ( Ellingson ) Conner was born January 1, 1945, in Kansas City, MO. Carolyn was 10 years old when her father died in 1955. She moved with her family to rural Fairmont, MN in 1957. She was confirmed at St Paul's Lutheran Church, Wilbert, MN and attended their elementary school. During her teen years, she enjoyed babysitting for families in the neighborhood and working at Lake Aires Supper Club in Fairmont. After high school graduation, Carolyn attended DeLyle's Beauty School in Fairmont where she received her hair dressing license. She lived and worked in Minneapolis before moving to Poughkeepsie, NY, where she was employed by IBM at their main U.S. headquarters until she retired. Carolyn then moved to Boston, MA and worked for the Environmental Protection Agency, ( EPA ). Carolyn's sisters called her their "angel on earth", for putting her life on hold and coming to Minnesota to care for their mother so she could stay in her own home !
Carolyn loved her family and friends. The joy of her life was her son, Randy. Carolyn had a merry heart and a great sense of humor ! She enjoyed collecting dolls, and they had a special place in her home. Carolyn loved to travel. She visited many places in Europe, special friends in Denmark, and her sister, Norma, in Mazatlan, Mexico. Carolyn especially loved New York City. She enjoyed celebrating her January 1st - 60th birthday in Times Square. Her last trip to New York was in the fall of 2011 with her son, Randy and dear friends who joined them for a carriage ride through Central Park and a special visit to the 9-11 Ground Zero Memorial.On January 14, 2012, Carolyn took her mother to visit Norma in Mazatlan. She returned to Richfield when she was not feeling well and passed away from a heart attack. Blessed be Carolyn's memory.
She is survived by her mother, Elaine ( Conner ) Diersen; son, Randy Conner, of Poughkeepsie, NY; sister-in-law, Bonnie Conner, of West Branch, IA; sisters, Kari Wedel, Welcome, MN; Norma Conner and special friend, Gabriel Comacho, of Mazatlan; Linda ( Gary ) Stangland, of Lakeville, MN; Leona ( Jack ) Simonett, of Burnsville, MN; step-sisters, Evelyn ( Martin ) Laue, of Fairmont, MN; Lola ( Lawrence ) Schultze, Ceylon, MN; Marlene ( Dennis ) Rolf, Waconia, MN; Judith Gove, Longmont, CO; Diane ( Steve ) Chase, Plymouth, MN and Jean ( Paul ) Labbus, of Merrill, WI; step-brother, Gary ( Jackie ) Diersen, of Fairmont; stepsister-in-law, Tammy Diersen, Fairmont and many dear nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Carolyn was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Conner; brother, Roger Conner; nephew, Caleb Chase; brothers-in-law, Dr. Robert Gove and Lloyd Wedel; step-brothers, Howard Diersen and Bruce Diersen.

Visitation Saturday, ( Jan. 28, 2012 ), from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Mt Calvary Lutheran Church, 6544 - 16th Ave S, Richfield, MN with a Special Prayer Service at 3:00 PM
