Leonard Edward Stehr
Age 97, of St. Bonifacius, formerly of Richfield, passed away on January 19, 2012. Preceded in death by parents, Adolf and Anna; and eight brothers and sisters. Survived by loving wife of 63 years, June Stehr; children, Larry (LaDonna) and Anne; grandchildren, Robert (Michelle) Stehr, Patricia Kivi, Melissa (Greg) Anderson; and great-grandchild, Ellie Stehr, Lexi Ross, Hannah Anderson, and Axel Anderson.
Leonard graduated from Northern State Teachers College in Aberdeen, SD, after undergraduate work in General Beadle College in Madison, SD, SD State College in Brookings, Mankato University and University of Northern Iowa. He spent his career teaching in elementary schools in Egan, SD, Java, SD, Roosevelt, MN, and St.Anthony, MN, and for 35 years he taught music and mathematics in the Richfield Public Schools. He enjoyed directing the Woodlake Mothesingers and choirs at Woodlake Lutheran, Berea Lutheran, and Bethlehem Lutheran. He organized and directed the Freetimers Handbell Ringers at Richfield Lutheran Church.
Funeral Information
Memorial Service will be held 2 PM on Saturday (Jan 28th) at Richfield Lutheran Church. 60th St. and Nicollet Ave. S., Richfield.
Visitation 6-8 PM on Friday at Morris Nilsen Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S., and 1 hour prior to service at church.
