Lennart Arvid Ericson, of Bloomington Minnesota, passed away after a brief illness on 25 June 2025. Born at Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis in 1932 to Swedish immigrants Herman G. Ericson and Anna (née Simons). Raised in South Minneapolis, he attended Miles Standish Elementary School, Folwell Junior High, and graduated in 1950 from Roosevelt High School. Joined the First Marine Division as a reservist in 1947 and saw service in Korea in 1950-51 before being discharged in 1952. Back in Minneapolis he married Gloria Jane Lenmark (1930--1988), in 1954 and together they had three children, David (1955--2013), Dean (born 1957), and Jane (born 1967). Len and Gloria were married for 34 years before her passing in 1988, and their family was raised in their longtime home in Bloomington, Minnesota. Len had a unique sense of humor and a wonderful memory for people he knew, places he had been, and things he had read about. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and fishing, was a passionate collector, and loved to travel. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Bloomington, and later the Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel in Minneapolis.
He is survived by his loving companion Mae Dobbs of Woodbury, sister Vivian of Minneapolis, son Dean and daughter Jane, six grandchildren, Madeline, Andrew, Ryan, Sarah, Eleanor, and Alec, as well as nieces and nephews.
