Gloria Mae Wright - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

May 19, 1939 - July 14, 2025

Gloria Mae Wright, age 86, of Hastings, passed away on July 14, 2025.

Mother - Grandmother - Friend

Gloria’s confirmation verse-
John 15:5: “I am the vine, you are the branches, He that abideth in Me, I am in him, the same brings forth much fruit, for without Me, you can do nothing.”

Gloria had a gift for making people laugh with her quick wit and sense of humor. She was the ultimate people person—able to strike up a conversation with anyone and instantly make them feel like family. Her life was filled with generosity, humor, laughter, and love. Saturday movie nights with Brad and Nathan, especially watching Laurel and Hardy, were moments she treasured and made unforgettable for everyone around her.

Mom truly enjoyed cooking and loved making her family's favorite home made dishes such as - her famous potato salad, meatloaf, cheese ball, "pink" salad, basketball burgers, or Grandma Lemke's chili.

Gloria was baptized into the Christian faith on June 18, 1939, by Pastor Pieper at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Fond Du' Lac Wisconsin. She was confirmed on May 29, 1953.

She is survived by her sons, Bradley J. Wright and Gary (Donna) Kamphuis; and grandchildren, Ryan Kamphuis, Shawn Kamphuis and Nathaniel W. Glick. Gloria is also survived by her “adopted” daughter, Kathrine M. of Washington; “adopted” son, Curt Hannula of Arizona; and her special long-time friend, Joy Eusebio.

A private memorial service for Gloria will be held at Berea Lutheran Church on the afternoon of August 30. Video of the service will be available here.

Preceded in death by her parents, Hugo Zeidler and Natalie Lemke; special long-time friend, Harold Seward of Washington; and her best friend, Shirley K. of Wisconsin.

Special mentions to Pastor Nathan Pfeiffer and Rev. David Schierenbeck of Berea Lutheran Church and School in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota for their support and loving guidance. Also to the doctors, nurses and staff at Our Lady of Peace Hospice in St. Paul, Minnesota. To Tammy and LeAnn G. of Bloomington, Minnesota - Thanks for all the support, prayers and warm thoughts of many other friends and acquaintances. To my special "sis", Trishee "Bear" M. and son, Abe, of Wisconsin, who are always there no matter what life throws at us. Love you so much sis. And a huge thank you to Julie Schrandt of Inver Grove Heights for her friendship, generosity, and time. Finally, to my BFF, Jodi M., of Hastings, Minnesota, who's been right there with me through it all. My heart couldn't beat without you.

Dear Brad, Gloria can be so proud of a dedicated and loyal & faithful son. You were there at every turn. The road has been long & trying but, you will have no regrets for fulfilling her every need. She will be missed for sure, but we take comfort knowing she loved our Lord & we will see her again. Gloria, was my Avon customer, 49 years later we were still sharing stories & laughing with that quick wit she had! I was blessed!
