Benjamin Anthony Karpesh
"Ben"
Ben passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at the age of 36, after a long-fought battle with heart failure.
Born in Edina, Minnesota, Ben was the beloved son of Deb and Kevin. He grew up close to his brother, Charlie and was deeply connected to a large and loving extended family of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. His childhood was filled with laughter, games, and time spent outdoors and at the cabin—memories that shaped the kind, funny, and determined man he became.
Despite facing significant health challenges, Ben proudly earned his Associate’s Degree in Supply Chain - a testament to his perseverance and strength.
Ben fell in love and married Laura, and together they welcomed their son Jack, bought a home and resided together in Hastings. For Ben his family was his purpose.
Ben had a passion for cabins, camping, and fishing, and he cherished every moment spent with family and friends. He was always up for a game of cribbage and brought joy and humor to gatherings. His intelligence, kindness, wit, and stubborn spirit made him unforgettable to all who knew him.
Ben is survived by his wife, Laura; son Jack; parents, Deb (John) and Kevin; brother, Charlie; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who were like family.
He will be remembered for being Ben, and his resilience.
Plans are being made for a celebration of Ben’s life in early September, with details to be shared soon.
The family invites those who knew Ben to share stories, memories, and reflections to be included in a memory book for his son, Jack. Please send these contributions to Ben's mom, Deb.
We love you, Ben. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Psalm 34:18: “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
The words of Psalm 34:18 remind us that even in the depths of our pain and sorrow, the Lord is intimately close to us. He not only understands our brokenness but also has the power to rescue us from the deepest heart pain.
