Karen Kay Kilzer (West), age 74, of Richfield, passed away on February 17, 2026. Long-time employee of Normandale College. Preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Donna (Rasmussen) West, and brother Mark West. Survived by husband, Paul Kilzer; daughters, Jen Butler ( Larry) and Angi Kilzer; granddaughter, Kalaya Kilzer; brother Bruce West (Connie Anest); sisters, Barb West and Deanna "DeeDee" Elwood; sister-in-law Judith Kilzer (Peg Ring); many-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with your family at this difficult time.
Karen and I worked together for many years. As a people person she was fun to be with. I have been thinking about the goofy things she did and how she could tell a good story. During the Christmas season, she wore socks that had bells attached. You could hear her “jingling” around the office and always knew where she was. She will be greatly missed.
Wear those bell socks in heaven Karen!
With deepest sympathy. I had the privilege to interact and work with her at Normandale Community College. She was always very helpful when I needed help with Financial aid stuff.
