Abelardo “Abe” S. Malicsi

Abelardo “Abe” S. Malicsi, age 85, of Richfield passed away April 8, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Alejandro and Amable, and sisters, Rosa and Lourdes. He is survived by his wife, Estelita, brother, Angelito, sister, Mercy and son, Allen.
Abe was a longtime Engineer and Metallurgist at the University of Minnesota from the late 1960’s to the 1990’s.
Abe was an endless supporter of his family and the Filipino community. With his creativity he provided amazing costumes and set props for several community productions that were directed by his dear wife, Estelita. Also, he was instrumental and dedicated in the creation of Fil-Minnesotan Seniors. Abe, very well known for his cooking ability, provided food to hundreds of people. His Lumpia (Egg Rolls) were a big hit inside and outside the Filipino community. Because of all this, he was presented with several awards for his dedication and service.
As a husband and father, he supported his wife and son in the many activities they participated in. He loved watching Estelita’s high school and community productions as well as going to his son’s (Allen) athletic events.
He has been a beloved pillar in the Filipino community. He will not only be remembered for his cooking and his service, but his humor and brotherly friendship and most importantly as a loving husband and father.

    The loss of Abe leaves a heartthrob for the love he poured out to our family. Our prayers are with you. Our Abby has kept us up to date. I pray the best for your family in this most difficult time of loss.

  3. Abe and Lita Malicsi as beginning members along with Fr Vic and Gerald and Barbara Krosnowski helped launch and start up a new charity called Risen Savior Missions. With the sole purpose to help save and feed the starving children in the Philippines beginning in 2006 and on into this present day distributing over 143 million meals of Feed My Starving Children Manna Pack Rice food from America. Abe was precious to all of us and will be remembered for his loving, gentle support and became our good and trusted friend! We all loved him and will really miss his joy, wisdom, laugh and smile! For he is still always with us as our good friend!
