Donna Lou Bristol - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

December 22, 1932 - June 24, 2026

Donna Lou Bristol

Age 93 of Minneapolis, MN, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026. She has now been joyfully reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Matt, her cherished daughter, Sandy, and the many other family members and dear friends who went before her.

Affectionately known by many as "Mrs. Matt," Donna lived a long and beautiful life rooted in deep devotion to her family, faith, and community. She was a truly special lady who possessed a rare, radiant light that shined brightly on everyone around her. She was an unforgettable presence, remembered by anyone who met her as an incredibly kind, warm, and special soul. Right up until the very end, Donna never lost her trademark spunk or her unmatched sense of humor.

While she wore many titles throughout her 93 years, her greatest joy was found in her family. She will forever be remembered as the world’s best mother, grandmother, and "Great Nana." Donna was the craftiest and most thoughtful matriarch, always pouring her love and creativity into making things special, and making special things for others. Her legacy of kindness, quick wit, boundless generosity, and devotion to God will live on forever through the generations she nurtured.

Missing her deeply are her loving children, Greg (Sherry) and Cheryl; her adored grandchildren, David, Steven (Sandra), Chuck (Lauren), Rick, Morgan (Taylor), and Cori (Sam); her precious great-grandchildren, Julia, Isabella, Addie, Sarah, Belle, Bria, Wesley, and Boden; and a host of extended family and lifelong friends who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Matt; daughter, Sandra Burg; parents, Arnold and Marjorie Olson; and brother, Bruce Olson.

Donna’s life was a masterclass in loving others well and keeping a joyful spirit. Though our hearts are heavy, we find great comfort in knowing she has been called to her eternal home, and is wrapped in the loving arms of God.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
