Donna Louise Klasges

Donna Louise Klasges, June 11, 1930 – December 30, 2021.

Age 91 of Edina, passed away unexpectedly on December 30, 2021. Born June 11, 1930 grew up in Minneapolis with her parents, Mary (Mae) and William Prattecke and her two sisters, Dolores and Rosemary. From stories told, they had fun times and as adults they continued their close relationships. Donna lived in Richfield for 60+ years, and raised three children while her sisters and their families were close by in Bloomington. Many many good times spent together. After her retirement from Barnes and Nobles, she worked part time at Drug Emporium/Synders. Her true enjoyment was family and spending weekends making memories with her children, sisters families, and her mother at family lake cabin just north of St. Cloud. She worked hard every year to put on the best Christmas Eve, from the wonderful smells of turkey dinner, to the jingle bells, and then to Santa coming down the stairs with a huge bag of gifts for all. Donna was also an avid MN Viking’s fan! She cared for her mother until she passed at age 102. For the past four years, she was an active resident at Heritage of Edina Assisted Living. She found joy playing and winning at BINGO.

Donna preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Kathleen Gesler; parents William and Mary Prattecke; and sister, Dolores (Melvin) Lundberg.

She is survived by daughter, Michelle (James) Birkholz of SC and son, Jeffery (Pamela) Klasges of MN; sister, Rosemary (Claude) Adamski of St. Paul; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews.

Donna, was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, aunt, grandma and great-grandma. She is loved, missed and will never be forgotten.
