Harry Nelson Peacock - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

November 25, 1937 - May 27, 2023

Harry Nelson Peacock

Harry Nelson Peacock was born on Thanksgiving Day November 25, 1937, and died on May 27, 2023, due to complications of progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), a Parkinson’s-like disease.

Harry was a lifelong resident of South Minneapolis. He graduated from Washburn High School in 1956 and from Mankato State in 1963. He worked in accounting for Lockheed Martin for nearly 40 years through the defense giant’s many changes and stages (Remington Rand, Univac, Sperry Univac, Sperry, Unisys, Piramax, Loreal, and, finally, Lockheed Martin).

Harry enjoyed golfing, playing softball, and bowling. He also enjoyed vacationing in Arizona and listening to jazz. He was a lifelong Vikings season ticket holder going back to the days when the Vikings played outdoors at Metropolitan Stadium, frequently in freezing rain and snow.

Harry was a devoted caregiver to his parents, Paul and Jeanette and his special needs brother, Douglas.

He is survived by brothers, Douglas and Keith, and sister Judith.

Memorials may be directed to Cure PSP; Struthers Parkinson’s Center; or Diamond Lake Lutheran Church.
