Jeanne Ellyn Pommier Passed away on July 23, 2026, at the age of 74, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and enough stories to keep her family smiling for years to come.
Born on April 28, 1952, in Vinton, Iowa, to Bernard and Marie Kreutner, Jeanne grew up as the only girl among six brothers. She learned early that if you wanted to be heard, you had to be quick with your words and even quicker with your wit. Fortunately for everyone who knew her, she mastered both.
Jeanne married the love of her life, Murray, and together they built a beautiful life over 48 years of marriage. They raised two wonderful children, Ben and Angie. Jeanne was also blessed with a wonderful son-in-law, Eric, and her greatest joy came with the arrival of her grandson, Hobbes. Becoming Grandma suited her perfectly, and Hobbes quickly discovered that Grandma's love came with plenty of hugs, encouragement, and probably a little spoiling.
Jeanne was a faithful member of Redemption Lutheran Church, where she found joy in ringing handbells with the church bell choir. She loved crocheting, creating gifts stitched with patience and love that will continue to warm family and friends for years to come.
When she wasn't crocheting Christmas gifts, there was a good chance Jeanne was happily defeating another level on her iPad or cheering on her beloved Minnesota Twins and Vikings. She celebrated every win, lamented every loss, and like every true Minnesota sports fan, entered each new season convinced, "This could be the year."
Jeanne had a wonderful sense of humor and a knack for making people feel at home. She loved gathering with family, sharing stories, and laughing until everyone forgot what they were laughing about in the first place. She was strong, generous, and never afraid to speak her mind-a skill undoubtedly perfected while growing up with all brothers.
She is preceded in death by four of her brothers. She is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Murray; her children, Ben and Angie (Eric) Nix; her cherished grandson, Hobbes; two brothers; and many nieces, nephews, friends and fellow church members who were blessed to know her.
While family grieves her absence, they can almost picture Jeanne settling into heaven, finding the nearest bell choir, the latest Twins score, and wondering if the Vikings might finally make it all the way.
In Jeanne's memory, cheer loudly, laugh, often, hug your family, and remember that life is always a little sweeter when it's shared with the people you love.

I am so deeply saddened to hear about Jeanne’s passing. I met Jeanne and Murray many decades ago in Modesto California. We lived in the same neighborhood and our kids played baseball together. Jeanne had a heart of gold, was one of the kindest people I had the pleasure of knowing socially. We became good friends and when they moved away, we still kept in touch through the years until Facebook came around. We stayed in touch through Facebook and our wonderful annual Christmas card exchange. I send my sympathy, love and hugs to Murray, Ben, Angie, and the rest of the family. May God bring you his comfort during this difficult time.

My sincere condolences to Jeanne’s family and friends. Both of us grew up in Atkins and that being said my brothers were her brothers friends and I always enjoyed visiting with the whole Kreutner family. Murray, Ben and Angie my prayers are wth you.
I’m so deeply sorry to hear of Jeanne’s passing. I had the privilege of working with her closing properties the county acquired. She would tell wonderful stories and her beloved family. My deepest sympathies, may your faith and memories help you now and going forward.

We are so sorry for your loss…I remember growing up and getting together for family gatherings, scared to death of the Kruetner boys, but finding refuge playing with Jeanne. She was such a soft spoken gal, but always happy and smiling. So glad we got to reunite at the Bruch reunions these past few years…may God give you comfort and strength in the days ahead. Jean, my former colleague, was simply awesome. She was a kind and sweet person that also knew how to laugh. She will be missed by many. My sincere condolences to her family and everyone that knew and worked with her.
Jeanne had a great sense of humor and was a nice person. I lived in the same dorm (Sal) at Waldorf College. We had just communicated this past year. She was hoping to go back to work even after all her health issues. My deepest sympathies to her family.
I also remember Jeanne from Waldorf College, as we attended at the same time. Deepest sympathies to her husband and loved ones. I’m sure she’ll be greatly missed.
