Joanne C. Mathison, age 88 of Richfield, MN passed away Thursday, December 8th, 2016. She was preceded in death by husband Mansel "Buck" T. Mathison. Survived by children Jenny (David) L. Mathison-Foster and James T. Mathison, and granddaughter Katherine E. Foster, and brother Richard D. Hinquist.
Joanne was born in Lafayette, MN and went to Winthrop High School. She attended Macalester College and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities Campus, graduating from the U of M in 1951. She and Buck married that same year. She was the office manager for Hinquist Companies, Inc. for many years.
Joanne loved spending time with family and attending family events. She was an excellent hostess and truly an amazing cook. She enjoyed being with her granddaughter and was very proud of her successes. She loved to travel, keep current with her reading, and thoroughly enjoyed attending the theater and events at Orchestra Hall.

My family lived next door to Joanne for seven years before we moved out of state a year and a half ago. I remember the first day we moved into that house-she was the first person to come over and welcome us. She was a wonderful neighbor and will be greatly missed.
