    John was a truly good man. When I was moving out of Richfield, I went online and asked if someone could help . He immediately stepped up and said he would help me. I went to Res with him and hadn’t talked to him since. He was a selfless,kind man. I will always be thankful for knowing him. I’m sorry for your loss. Heaven received a new Angel.
    Sincerely Lori Miller (class of 1979)

    John, was the kindest man I’ve ever known. Not only were we classmates, we were text buddies. He was always there for a text ear. I remember when we moved Lori Miller to her new home and both Lori and Cathy Carlson were wheelchair bound. John was pulling, I was pushing, trying to get these ladies into his truck and we were laughing so hard, we couldn’t stand ourselves. I will truly miss John with all my heart, and will always think he’s gonna text me back. Love ya, Angie – Richfield Class of 1979 wooo!

    John was a good man and gentle soul. Not only were we neighbors growing up in Richfield but we were neighbors up north. Our families had cabins next to each other on 8th Crow Wing Lake. Many memories flooded back when I heard the sad news.

    UNDER the wide and starry sky

    Dig the grave and let me lie:
    Glad did I live and gladly die,
    And I laid me down with a will.

    This be the verse you ‘grave for me: 5
    Here he lies where he long’d to be;
    Home is the sailor, home from the sea,
    And the hunter home from the hill.
    R.I.P. old friend

    John was always a jovial and gentle friend to all. From riding around the streets of Richfield on our Schwinns; banana seats, sissy bars, or 10-speeds to graduating from RHS 40 years ago to the many problems of middle age, John has always been there for any of us … any time. He is and was a very special amazing person. Rest In Peace, John. You will be missed for your compassionate support. Love and peace to all of John’s family.

    Jane, John and Joey, and the rest of John’s family – I was sad and shocked to hear of John’s sudden death. I had talked with him over the phone about meeting up to give him some pictures of family from the past, but we were never able to meet so I sent them to him. I have fond memories of us all growing up together in Norwood and in Richfield. My sympathy and prayers go out to you all. Carol Jean Heckmann
