Lucille L. Franke, age 82, of Bloomington, died unexpectedly on Friday, February 9, 2007, in Mesa, AZ. She was born in Mt. Carroll, Illinois in 1924, graduated with a degree in music from Carthage College and received her master's degree in education from the University of Minnesota. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Lloyd; her daughters, Karla (Bob) Nistler and Joanne (John)Forrest; a son, Craig (Deb) Franke; grandchildren, Julie, Mark, Sarah, Joel, Mikayla; and great-grandchildren, Jack and Max.She will be remembered for her passion for learning as well as her drive to live each day to the fullest. Lucy actively lived her Christian faith by her involvement in many leadership roles in the church. She spent most of her career as an educator at the junior high level at schools in Bloomington. Lucy had a creative side that expressed itself in her cooking, her floral arrangements and her planning of special events for friends and family. Lucy and Lloyd loved to travel to experience other cultures and meet new people from all walks of life. We will miss her vibrant spirit, her enthusiasm and her smile that touched so many.
