Marilyn Joyce (Sanders) Abernathy, age 89, died peacefully at home in Mound, MN on 8/2/2023 surrounded by family. Born 4/3/1934 in Mpls, MN. A devoted wife and amazing mom, Marilyn gave love and kindness to everyone she met. She loved family, falling asleep holding Tom’s hand, bunnies and popcorn.
Preceded in death by parents, Fred and Sally Sanders; sisters, Charlotte Sanders & Gloria (Ron) Lee; brother, Ken (Gloria) Sanders; and grandson, Sam Abernathy.
Survived by loving husband of 68 years, Thomas Abernathy; children, Mark (Ruth) Abernathy, Kathy (Don) Ingraham, John (Kelly) Abernathy; grandchildren, Tara, Jake, Dane, Emma, Ali, Chase, Pieper & Phoenix; nieces & nephews; great and great-great nieces & nephews.
A small Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
