Mary Ellen Wetherall (née, Bode)
Age 90, passed away peacefully at Meadow Woods Memory Care in Bloomington, MN. She was a middle child of six born in Kansas City, MO, growing up in Cedar Rapids, IA. She graduated from Mount Mercy College, and was always very proud of her Alma Mater.
In 1956, she married Robert Wetherall and the two eventually parted ways. After raising six children, Mary Ellen took a gutsy leap and went back to school to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. She used her new LPN expertise and excellent people skills to work at Edina Care Center, eventually moving to, and retiring from, Park Nicollet's Franklin Avenue clinic in 2000.
Preceded in death by her daughter, Joan Wetherall; and son, Robert Jr. "Bobby" Wetherall. She is survived by her children, Julie Browning (Bruce), Janet Finke, John (Michele), and Peter (Lucy); as well as siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Outgoing, intelligent, and very opinionated, Mary Ellen loved all things Irish. And shopping! She loved to shop. She also loved her pal, Jim Elberling. Together they traveled and had fun outings and adventures with friends for decades.
