LCpl Michael E. Bethel, age 23, of Hollis, Oklahoma passed away November 5, 2013 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Mike was born August 22, 1990, in Phoenix, Arizona to Mike and Susan Bethel. He joined the Westview Boys Home family in Oklahoma in 2007. While at Westview, his house parents were Tony and Gail Chitwood, Jeremy and Rachel Luallen, and Terry and Adrienne Owens. He attended the Hollis Church of Christ. Mike graduated from Hollis High School in 2010. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from September 12, 2010, until November 5, 2013. Mike graduated from Marine boot camp on December 20, 2010. He served one tour in Afghanistan and was stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina at the time of his passing.
Mike is survived by his mother, Susan Bucich and her husband, Scott; his father, Mike Bethel; his son, Grayson Lane Bethel born April 24, 2013; the mother of his son, Annabelle Heikes; two brothers, Anthony Bethel and Joshua Bucich; one sister, Hannah Moree; grandmother and grandfather Hamlin; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his Westview family.
