Patricia A. Vessey | Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

April 16, 1929 - April 19, 2021

Patricia Ann Vessey
“Patsy”

Born April 16, 1929, died peacefully on April 19, 2021, in Minneapolis at the age of 92. She was the daughter of John William and Katherine (Roche) Vessey and was preceded in death by her brothers Donald Vessey, Robert Vessey, and John Vessey, and sisters Marion Kole, Jane Nelson, and Barbara Pearson. Patsy retired from a long and successful career at Honeywell as a Wholesaler Specialist. She had many interests and hobbies including gardening, tap dancing, and reading. She was immensely proud to be the lifelong secretary of Roosevelt High School Class of '47. Family and friends were enormously important to Patsy. Her Park Avenue friends were especially dear to her as were the friends she made at Nokomis Square. Patsy maintained close friendships with the people she met throughout her careers and while wandering through the world. She had a tremendous love for children showing it by volunteering at St Joseph’s for many years. She lived a full and vibrant life with more friends than you could count. Her nephews, nieces, and other family members meant more to her than words can describe. She was irrepressible, surprising, and true to herself. She loved and lived exuberantly. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone with whom she interacted. We will miss her dearly. She donated her body to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program. At Patsy’s request there will be no memorial service. She requested that any gatherings in her memory celebrate her life with good memories. She would be honored by donations to the Catholic Charities Children’s Services, 1200 Second Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55403. The family thanks Hospice Nurses Lisa and Laura for Patsy’s end-of-life care. Special gratitude to Dan and Betty at the Episcopal Church Homes for their kind care of Patsy.
