August 11, 1943 - May 23, 2026
Terry Moore Collins, 82, passed away on May 23, 2026, in Minneapolis, MN.
Terry was born August 11, 1943, the son of Louise and Clyde Collins, and spent most of his youth in the Missouri Ozarks, where his fond memories include fishing with his grandparents Ray and Ivah, and pitching on the West Plains High School baseball team. As a young man he served two years in the army, including as Military Police in Vietnam. After the military he earned a master's degree in geology at the University of Missouri-Rolla, and worked briefly in borate mining, then in uranium exploration, and finally settled into gold exploration, mostly out of Elko, Nevada.
In 1974 he married Susan Jane Blickensderfer, and together they raised two children. When the children started violin lessons, he wanted to be in on the fun, so he became an amateur luthier, and took care of all the family’s instrument needs. He expanded this work into a side business and spent many years refurbishing and repairing string instruments, both for the love of it, and to help support his family.
Terry is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Rachel (Mike); son, Reuben (Melanie); his three grandchildren, Claire, Clyde, and Paige; and his sister, Donna (Elden).
His burial will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on June 12, in a private family service.
