Leonard F. Nielsen

Leonard F. Nielsen “Fig” age 86 of Richfield, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away on January 18, 2019. A Korean war vet and union local 15 plumber by trade. Fig enjoyed family, friends, dancing, singing and a party! Fig always had a helping hand, friendly advice and a unique song (originals) to share with family and friends. Fig also loved getting away to the lakes. Weekends were spent hauling the camper up north or visiting friends and family’s cabins.
Preceded in death by loving wife, Carol; brothers, Harold, Bobby, and sisters, Elsie, Evelyn, and Betty.
Survived by children, Mark (Lisa) Nielsen, Steve (Jodi) Nielsen, Paul (Jennifer) Nielsen and daughter, Heidi (Kelby) Krabbenhoft; grandchildren, Briana (James) Donald, Nicholas (Claire), Brittney (Michael) Anderson, Trenton, Trevor, Kade, Joseph (Sara) Krabbenhoft, Sarah (Adam) Swingdorf, Louis Krabbenhoft and great-grandchildren, Elsie, Odin, Soren, JoJo, Tristan, Aneta and Eliza.
An athlete himself, Fig loved watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports at all levels. Blessed with a great group of friends and cherished memories. Fig will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
