Born and raised on a dairy farm in Moose Lake, MN, son of Arthur and Marvel (Tracy) Jones, where he learned hard work, a can-do spirit, entrepreneurship and saving a buck. Bob joined the Navy during the Korean War, specially trained to be an Air Traffic Controller which he performed on Naval Bases in Patuxent River, MD and Midway Island where an accident caused blindness. In spite of that he raised a family, worked in metal stamping, Minnesota Society for the Blind and maintained a home and yard. He developed carpentry skills and completed home projects with passion and precision. He was a consummate walker and found joy in listening to his favorite sports team – the Minnesota Twins, tuned in on WCCO! But, most importantly he achieved being a beloved husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa.

Thank you to all the caregivers at the VA, Regions Hospital, Capitol View Rehab and Southview Acres who gave care from the heart.

So sorry for your loss. I knew bob when I worked at the legion in Bloomington and enjoyed many long conversations with him over beers. He was always in good spirits it seemed and was an inspiration to lots of us there. We enjoyed chatting about up north as I had a place in Cromwell where I now live.i haven’t seen him in 24 years but have told stories about bob many times.
