Tonya (Holton) Moon, age 71, of Richfield. Born May 11, 1947, and died February 28, 2019. Survived by husband of 42 years, John, son Jason and daughter Sarah, all of Richfield. Also survived by brother Larry Holton, Sisseton, SD; mother-in-law Verna Moon, Minneapolis; sister-in-law Carol Holton, Victoria; brothers-in-law David Moon, Minneapolis, and Greg Moon, Lilydale; nephews Nick Holton (Katie) of Victoria and Jeff Moon, El Paso; nieces Erin Cote (Jesse), Eden Prairie, and Jenni Zeuli (John), Rochester; great nephews Connor Zeuli and Dillon Cote; great nieces Annie and Harper Cote, Kaitlyn and Avery Holton and Kjerstin and Ella Zeuli. Preceded in death by parents, John and Alyce Holton of rural Delmont, SD; sister Vivian Holton, brothers Berand Holton and Patrick Holton, father-in-law H.H. Moon, brothers-in-law Steve Moon and Dean Moon, and nephew Joshua Moon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Peter's, Blessed Trinity Catholic School or donor's choice are appreciated.

My sympathies to John and family. I am so sorry for your loss. Tonya was Maid of honor at our wedding on 1972. I have many fond memories of Tonya from SDSU in Brookings.

Tonya made Blessed Trinity Catholic School a special place. She was truly a lovely, kind, compassionate witty lady. She was special and made all the kids around feel that way as well. I so enjoyed volunteering with her every Wednesday for many years and am honored to have known her. A beautiful life well led.

I have been a volunteer math tutor at Blessed Trinity School for twelve years, through three principals and lots of change, including teacher turnover and an influx of new students from Mexico and Central America. Checking in and out each time at the desk, Tonya was one constant face, always greeting me and always willing to help. Listening to her on the phone dealing with issues, and seeing her help students coming in and out of the nurse’s station (right behind her desk), I realized that she was the face and voice of the school for so many different constituencies, like students, parents, teachers, visitors, and volunteers. Even as she struggled with her health, Tonya was always willing and able to see the lighter side and the good in every situation. I will miss her, and I pray for the repose of her soul.
