Ethel M. Zobel - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

July 13, 1925 - February 26, 2021

Ethel M. Zobel, age 95, of Mount Olivet Careview Home, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021. Preceded in death by parents Frank and Elizabeth Weber, sister Mildred (Sherman) Falk, brothers Nathan (Betty) Weber and Marshall (Virginia) Weber, and son Douglas R. Matthews. Survived by son Darrell J. (Barbara) Thompson; grandchildren Suzi (Lee) Folwick, Frank Matthews, Danyelle (Jeff) Thorson, Daniel (Tabatha) Lagro, and Loni Lagro; great-grandchildren Nikki, Katie, Natalia, Amelia, Melaney, Brandyn, Madi, Riley, Ella, Siana, Taya, and Easton; great-great-grandchildren Layla and Aidan, plus nephews, nieces and cousins. Ethel was born in South St. Paul and lived on Wyoming Street for many years then moved to Richfield. In her younger years, Ethel worked as a clerical assistant with the government. She loved to play cards and enjoyed playing the keyboard/organ, and was an avid reader of romance novels. But her main love was her dogs. To many, Ethel was known to be a tad “spunky” but definitely lovable. We do ask that you keep Ethel in your thoughts and prayers as she continues her journey with the Lord.

In memory of Ethel M. Zobel, please donate to your local Humane Society Shelter.
