Marjorie "Marge" Ann Tungseth passed away peacefully on February 12, 2025 at the age of 106 at Lakehouse Healthcare Center in Minneapolis MN. Marjorie was born to Gunhild and Ole T. Ose on May 13, 1918 on the family farm in Thief River Falls, MN. She had 7 siblings.  On July 12, 1943, she married Erling M. Tungseth.  They moved to Spring Lake Park, MN where he began his Lutheran ministry.  She was a Pastor’s wife for 32 years living also in Roseville and Rochester, MN where his ministry took them. She had 5 children: Paul (deceased), Karen, Michael (infant deceased), Miriam and Marlene.

At age 57 she began working as the Receptionist in the Corporate Office of Byerly’s in Edina, MN.  She held this position until her retirement at age 70.  During those years she lived in Edina and eventually, Richfield, MN where she was an active member of Woodlake Lutheran Church.

Marge loved to entertain, especially at Christmas.  She made countless Christmas cookies for the annual Church Choir and Council parties in their home.  Proud of her Norwegian Heritage, she also made lefse at Christmas and taught this skill to her daughters. They continue this tradition with their families today. She loved collecting recipes, cooking and baking, especially desserts. She also loved classical music, Lutheran hymns, Harry Belafonte and Perry Como.  Marge was an excellent seamstress, upholsterer and housekeeper.  She was an avid reader, the Bible being a favorite.  Her Christian faith was a strong foundation for her through her life.

She is survived by: brother, Ray Ose; sister-in-law, Pat Ose (Glenn); daughters, Karen Neset (David Estreen), Miriam Odermann (Randall) and Marlene; granddaughters, Ashley Meier (Cole) and Kirsten Markley (Matthew); 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers: Otis, Kenneth, and Glenn; and sisters: June Berggren, Doris Asp and Eleanor.

The family wishes to thank Grace Hospice for their wonderful care during her final weeks.

There will be a private interment at a later date.

Hello to the family from Becky Dixen. Our moms were friends for each other during a hard stage in their lives, and I knew Marlene in high school. Marge was always up for pie and coffee with Jay! We wish you all peace.
