December 24, 1933 - December 24, 2025
Dennis Arlen Larson, a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on his 92nd birthday, December 24, 2025. Born on December 24, 1933, in Alden, Wisconsin, Dennis lived a full and generous life marked by kindness, gratitude, faith, and devotion to family.
Dennis was a proud Norwegian and never passed up an offer of pickled herring or lefsa. He was deeply loved by those who knew him and was always gracious and thankful for every person who crossed his path. Each Christmas, he delighted in continuing a cherished tradition—gifting loved ones a Perkins coupon book and a crisp $2 bill—simple tokens that reflected his thoughtfulness, humor, and love for bringing smiles to others.
Dennis proudly served his country after enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in various locations throughout Europe and the United States. His military service instilled in him a strong sense of duty, discipline, and appreciation for others that remained with him throughout his life.
A devoted Catholic, Dennis was a longtime member of the Church of the Assumption in Richfield, Minnesota. His faith was central to who he was and guided his many acts of kindness and service. Volunteering through his church and local charities was especially meaningful to him, and he gave freely of his time and energy to help others.
Dennis was immensely proud of his family. He is lovingly remembered by his five children: Scott (Mary), Steve (Kim), Gary (Kim), Julie (Mark) Baribeau, and Gregg (Kristie); his sister Bonnie Knutson; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Jayne; his brother Rodney Larson; his sister Shirley Johnson; and his parents Florence and Roy Larson.
Known for his great sense of humor, Dennis brought joy wherever he went. Generous by nature, he found his greatest happiness in making others smile—whether through a kind gesture, a thoughtful word, or a perfectly timed joke.
An avid sports fan, Dennis loved cheering on the Minnesota Twins and Golden Gophers, but no team ever compared to those that included his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their games were always his favorites.
Funeral services will be held at a future date to be determined.
Dennis’s legacy lives on through the love he shared so freely and the countless lives he touched with warmth, generosity, and grace. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
