April 24, 1946 - April 12, 2025
Joseph Andrew Medvec, age 78 of Richfield, passed away on April 12, 2025 surrounded by his family, after a battle with cancer.
Born April 24, 1946, in St. Paul, MN, Joe was a man of remarkable kindness, wisdom, and wit.
His life was one of dedication and service, evident in his career as a prosthetist and as an Air Force Veteran in the Vietnam War. He applied his skills and compassion at the Minneapolis VA, MHealth Fairview, and Winkley Artificial Limb Co., where he helped countless individuals regain their mobility.
Joe's life was rich with his interests and the love of family. He shared 52 wonderful years with his wife, Marie. Together, they raised two daughters, who remember their father as a source of endless encouragement. Joe's joy multiplied with the arrival of his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Agnes (Keefe).
He is survived by his wife, Marie; daughters, Larisa Breid (Nick) and Nicole Farrell (Patrick); grandchildren, Lucy and Keaton Farrell; and half-sister, Lynne Parker.
Each of us carry forward a piece of his spirit- his lessons of love, perseverance, and wisdom. Joe was an avid car lover, movie and trivia buff and game player. His presence at his children's and grandchildren's activities was a given; he was their most enthusiastic supporter. He was always there for us.
To honor Joe, his family will wear his trademark Hawaiian shirts for the service. Please join in this tribute if you wish.

Awesome picture and obituary, Joe’s dedication to vets and prosthetics was amazing. I will always remember him as the “7-Up Man”.
