Patrick B. Mathews - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

November 11, 1943 - August 6, 2025

Patrick "Pat"B. Mathews, age 81, of Richfield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 6, 2025.
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Pat was a man who lived life at full throttle. He worked hard and played hard, loving all things with power and speed. He could drive, ride, fix or restore just about anything - from classic show cars to motorcycles - many of which went on to win awards. If a part couldn't be found, Pat would simply make it himself. He especially loved taking his bike to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred and Beatrice Mathews; his brother Leroy Mathews; and his sisters, Marilyn Hageman, Janine McCabe, Dorothy Cichy, Joyce Steenerson and Beverly Blommer.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lynette; his son, Todd (Christine) Mathews; his grandchildren, Mandi (Brett) Alonzo, Trenton (Annie) Mathews, and Aaron Mathews; his sister, Kathy Schultz; his brother Mike (Kelly) Mathews and many nieces and nephews.
Together, Pat and Lynette built a life marked by love, hard work, and adventure. They owned and operated a sales and service printing press company for 30 years and also enjoyed many wonderful cruises. Pat had a deep and abiding love for God and his family. He was especially proud of Todd, Christine and his grandchildren. He phoned them often to say, "Just calling to give you a hug, and I pray for you every day."
Pat was known for his humor, warmth, and ability to turn any stranger into a friend. He was a devoted family man, a loyal friend, a great neighbor, and a gifted joke and story teller who lived by the motto: "Laugh every day."
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Memorials preferred to Cru or Hope Church.

For many years when we went to “Back to the 50’s” we always met up with Uncle Pat. He was so great with our kids and shared many picnic lunches with us at the car show. Those are some great memories that our family will always cherish!

Pat was a great neighbor ! He watched over all of us around No name park and even knew all the dogs that took their daily walk around our streets.! He loved to get to know everyone and if you ever wanted a visit from Pat all you needed to do was lift up the hood of your car and he would be right over eager to help with any car troubles.! He had a great sense of humor and was always fun to talk to ! He will be greatly missed as a friend and a good neighbor ! Love Kathy and Steve Krantz
