March 19, 1943 - February 21, 2026
Sharon Lynn Mock, with profound sadness, the family of Sharon Lynn Mock of Minneapolis, Minnesota, announces her passing on February 21, 2026, at the age of 82.
Sharon was born on March 19, 1943, in Villa Park, Illinois, to Bernice and Leonard Wehrs. She went on to attend Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, earning a degree in English Education. While at Monmouth, Sharon met Jim Mock, and they were married on December 17th, 1967. Throughout her life, she was known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family and friends. She carried a fiery spirit and a caring heart, bringing comfort, joy, and no shortage of advice to those who knew her.
Sharon spent most of her professional life around academia - first as a High School English teacher, then serving eleven years on the Northfield School Board. From 1988-1993, she served as the Visit Coordinator in Admissions at St. Olaf College, and, finally, she served as an academic advisor in the School of Business and the Center for Entrepreneurship at Wichita State University.
Sharon is remembered for her love of family holidays, making hors d’oeuvres, clipping coupons, reading recipe books, and shopping. The shopping legacy mostly lives on through her daughter, Leigh Ann and son, Bryan, who can’t stay away from the local St. Vincent de Paul. She loved her children, saying, “They’re mostly good-looking, one of them is really smart, one sings beautifully, and one is sometimes kind of funny…”
Sharon is survived by sons, Bryan (Kristen) Mock of Lake Mills, WI & Aaron (Kathy) Mock, of Lake Mills, WI; daughter, Leigh Ann (Bill) Mock Garner of Minneapolis, MN; grandsons, Noah, Holden, and Daxton Mock & Liam and Landon Garner; brother-in-law, Ronald (Kim) Mock of Bradenton, FL; eleven nieces and nephews - and honorary son, Matt Frank - Breckenridge, CO. Preceding her in death are her husband, James J. Mock; parents, Bernice and Leonard Wehrs; and sister, Carol Christiansen.
Sharon would also like to give a shoutout to the Sig Eps, Snoop, Mr. T, The Kyles, J.R Ewing from Dallas, the Hoflands, Tattoo from Fantasy Island, the Zigorskis, Kenny Rogers, Anton, Waylon and Willy, the Wycoffs, Latka from Taxi, the Goldsboroughs, the Rosses, and all of her friends.
