Wayne was an amazing man; he will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. I’m going to miss the stories he always had—a story for every situation. He was funny and fun; for 73 years old, you certainly couldn’t tell, because his personality was young. He was full of wisdom and understanding. He knew that sometimes situations happen in life that we cannot control, but never let anyone take your shine away. He was loving and caring, full of adventure; he definitely knew how to have a good time. He loved spending time at his cabin with friends, at the bar, and with his daughter and grandchildren, who also had a cabin near. Wayne will be deeply missed. I am so sorry for everyone’s loss. Please know he is with his wife, daughter, and grandson again, and they are all watching over you, guiding you; as your angels. I love you Wayne until we meet again my friend. ❣️

Wayne was a strong and humorous man, he was a great representation of our community in south Minneapolis. Wayne makes me
Proud to have been apart of such a historic journey. His spirit was always fun and he was all in when the situation called for his assistance. You could count on him to have your back!! Wayne was a friend and a family member!! What great memories I have of the love and commitment we all had in our neighborhood for one another!! Grateful for the experiences. “Remember you don’t mess with a Russ”

Wayne, I will always remember you for your laughter and your kindness. You were always first to arrive at Lionsgate and last to leave. I tried so unsuccessfully to have you pull out in front of me to leave. You would wave me off to go every time until one day I asked you why. You said I want to make sure all of you get out safe first then I understood the man you were. I will always visualize you sitting in your car, in your spot. You truly were #1 in so many ways [our inside joke]. Rest peacefully, job well done.
