One of the best teachers I had in the 1960’s while at Marshall High School; and a good mentor as I prepared for college.

  2. Hazel Muller says:

He was my English teacher in Marshall. He was a great teacher and a great person.

  3. Pam Swennes Barrows says:

He was not only a great teacher, he kept us in line effortlessly. Good sense of humor. When I lived in Denver I always looked forward to coming home for Christmas Eve services at First Lutheran to hear him sing O Holy Night. He was truly a teacher that made a very positive difference in our learning and lives.

Hats off! Another of the Old Guard marches on. Lee’s dedication to teaching, to the Marhian staffs, to the MEA, and to the Language Arts Department was exemplary. His rendition of “O Holy Night” ushered in many a Christmas, and the antics of The Four Professors still make me smile. I dare anyone not to like a man who would, literally, fall to his knees from laughter.

I hold you all close in mind, prayer, and, most certainly, memory.

  5. Patricia Cole says:

Leroy will always be remembered as my “mentor’ painting partner. He not only taught me the tricks of the painting business, but as colleagues at Marshall Senior High , we shared years of memories in our friendship. We still have and cherish the poem he wrote and gave to us when our special needs daughter Kristi was born.

GOD bless his memory and prayers for comfort and peace to his family.

Sympathy is extended to the Conyers family in your loss. Mr Conyers’ 37 years of teaching at MHS and his many contributions in the community will long be remembered. He expected you to do your best…and for him, you wanted to do just that! All who worked on the MARHIANs over the years enjoyed his supervision. He was serious about education but made the learning fun! THANKS, Mr. Conyers!

  7. Paul Rehkamp says:

Sympathy from Marcia and I……he was always a gentleman and fixture in our school and community that we enjoyed……his last years were difficult and I hope Ellayne and family are finding support from friends
