Adree L. Bey - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

Adree Bey, 101, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, died peacefully in her home at the Landmark of Fridley on March 24, 2018. Adree was born at Twin Groves Farm in De Smet, South Dakota, on August 6, 1916, to Carl Oscar Larson and Grace Carmon Larson. After graduating from high school, Adree worked for U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Corn and Hog Office in De Smet. She moved to Minneapolis in 1940, and in 1944 married Alexander L. Bey, a young attorney. Together they had four children and made a home in Minneapolis, where Adree tended her garden, cooked and canned, and sewed clothes for her children. When her children were older, Adree worked as a secretary for the Minneapolis Public Schools. She enjoyed gardening and was a long-time member of the Richfield Garden Club. She also did needlework, especially knitting and quilting, and liked to play Scrabble and bridge.

Adree is survived by her children Sara Bey Dreyfuss and Edward M. Samson of Northbrook, Illinois; Lawrence Bey of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota; Sheldon Bey and Janis Savage of Madison, Wisconsin; Randolph and Margaret Bey of St. Paul, Minnesota; Grandchildren Rebecca (Becky) and Jeff Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Matthew Bey of Austin, Texas; Lindsey (Thora) Bey and Richard Duda-Malinski of Chicago; Marin Bey Lewis and Sean Lewis of Lambertville, New Jersey; Rachel Samson of Miami, Florida; Jenna Samson, Alison Bey and Patrick Ackerman, and Whitney Bey and David Brandis of Minneapolis; Aimee Bey of St. Paul; and great-grandchildren Wyatt Chapin, Dawson Anderson, Sheldon Bey, Nora Lewis, Christopher Bey, Brian Bey. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander; brothers Alden and Clifford Larson; granddaughters Cassandra Bey and Amanda Carlson-Bey; and great-grandson Jereau Carlson-Bey. A memorial service will be performed by Adree’s nephew, Kris Larson,
