Age 73, of Richfield, passed away peacefully at home on October 14. Bill is survived by wife, Cheryl Hjortaas; children, Jennifer (Shane) Oberg, William (Lisa) Hjortaas, Caroline (Jeffrey) Erickson and Elizabeth (Thomas) Mayer; grandchildren, Bryttany Foss, Alexis and Amelia Hjortaas, Grace and Noah Erickson, Mason and Helen Mayer; and great-grandson, Dash Frane. Preceded in death by parents, Harvey and Agnes Hjortaas; grandson, TJ Foss; and brother, Charles Hjortaas.

Bill and Cheryl were a great example of Godly marriage to us all! Shared values was a course offered to all city of richfield employees and bill was “king” of gracious, kind, giving and being magnanimous! Cheryl was his queen and greatest cheerleader Bill will be dearly missed!
Cheryl, I’m so, so sorry to hear of Bills passing. He was such
a great man & a great friend & we were all lucky to work with
him. Every time I called him after hours ( which was often), he would promptly respond with a smile on his face.
My sincerest condolences….he will be greatly missed!
