David W. Finson - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

David W. "Big Dave" Finson, of Maplewood, died Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at his home. David was born on January 26, 1953, in Minneapolis to Vern and Bette (Jernberg) Finson. He graduated from Richfield High School in 1971. He was a stand-out Center on the Basketball Team. He attended and graduated from Augsburg University in 1975. David had a long and successful career as an appliance salesman, following in his father's footsteps. He received many awards for his salesmanship. David loved dogs and was an avid fisherman. He was happiest when he was out on the water. He also enjoyed playing cards and was a skilled and cunning card player. He lived his life as a caring soul who always was anxious to lend a hand. He is survived by sisters, Karen Lehner (Bob), and Barbara Moodie (Tim); nephews Brice Lehner (Kelly), Brett Lehner and Griffin Moodie and niece, Colleen Barndt (James); special friend Laura Galindo and many cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon B. and Bette M. Finson.

    We were saddened to hear of this news. Dave had a kind and loving soul. He cared about the community he lived in and the residents that knew him. He will be dearly missed. RIP dear friend.

    Are deepest condolences to Dave’s family. We had the pleasure of getting to know Dave the past year in half where he lived. Very kind caring man. We will miss our talks with him down in the lobby.

    I’m so saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. We went on so many fishing trips together and always had a wonderful time. Dave was a part of some of my favorite memories growing up and to think I’ll never get to see him again is very saddening. My condolences to Dave’s family, he was a wonderful man, RIP.
