Duane Roger Femrite
Age 83, of Bloomington, passed away on May 11, 2020. A Physics Teacher for the Richfield Public Schools for 32+ years and an active member of House of Prayer Lutheran Church. Preceded in death by loving wife, Emelie Femrite. Survived by children, Mark (Sarah) Femrite and Shari (Dan) Sjostrand; grandchildren, Ryan and Brandon Sjostrand, Joshua, Benjamin, Elizabeth and Anna Femrite; sister, Sharilyn (Doug) Bates; other loving relatives and friends.
Interment in Dawson, MN.
Memorials will be directed towards Fairview Foundation, Greatest Needs Fund.
Rest in peace, my friend. Duane and I were classmates in Dawson. In addition, he was my protector as an excellent offensive tackle and defensive nose tackle on our 1953-54 Blackjack football team. A great friend and teammate.

So sad for your loss. Duane was a wonderful man. My most enjoyable memory was playing cribbage with him. Or wist, or buck, or “oh hell”, or any of the fun card games we enjoyed. The cribbage games at the Strom Reunion were my favorite. Duane, you will be missed.
Duane was my physics teacher at RHS in 73. He was kind but firm in his expectation for excellence, always prepared, expecting his students to be the same. His passion for physics was visible through his white-shirt and tie exterior, always willing to help inquisitive students.
