September 12, 1946 - January 19, 2016
Elizabeth "Beth" Hawkins, age 69 of Minneapolis, passed away on January 19, 2016 from complications of Alzheimer's and her lifelong struggle with asthma.
Beth was born in Mpls and attended St Peter's grade school, Academy of the Holy Angels '64, St Catherine's College, and the Adler Institute. Beth was a lifelong learner.
Beth had a decades long relationship with Lake Country School, where she sent all 4 of her children, and continued to substitute teach at all levels, until she was no longer able. Beth was in the same bookclub for over 30 years, and she was passionate about peace and social justice.
Within moments of meeting Beth, she would always talk about all 15 of her grandchildren, by name. And even though she battled Alzheimer's, her grandchildren's names were never forgotten.
Beth is survived by her husband, Michael "Mick"; children Lisa (Dale) Hengel, Sara Anne Hawkins, Luke (Jolene) Hawkins, Annie (Ryan) LaMere; proud Nana to Victoria, Aiden, Juliana, Abbie, Ronan, Clodagh, Mairead, Easton, Fischer, Dalley, Graisen, Bella, Nolan, Natalie, Benji; siblings Jay (Pat) Hendrickson, Mary (John) Kelly and many loving nieces and nephews.
