Eugene Arthur Sorman

Eugene Arthur Sorman, age 91 of Apple Valley, passed away Sunday, April 19,2015. Preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Blanch; wife, Patricia; 5 children, Wendy, Gerald, Teresa, Charles and Ann Marie; sisters, LaVonne, June and Mary; and brother, John. Survived by wife, Amelia; brother, Robert Sorman; son, Gene (Diane); daughter, Sharon (Bob) Raymo; grandchildren, Jon, Jackie (Chad), Eric and Neil; great-granddaughter, Annabel; stepchildren, Nancy, Earl, Carol and Karen; many nieces and nephews. Gene had 30 years of service, city of Mpls., most recently Bldg. Inspector. Gene had 39 years of service in the Armed Forces, joined the Navy in 1941 - Veteran of WWII and Korea. Received Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal, National Defense Medal. Later, Gene converted to the Air Force Reserve, receiving Air Force longevity with Hour Glass Gold for 30 years; Armed Forces Reserve Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal, American Defense Medal, American Campaign Medal, and Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. Gene was the former Fire Chief for the 934th Tactical Airlift Group, Air Force Reserve.
