Gabriel G. Rotz, age 82, of Richfield. He retired in 2000 after 42 years of service at Inland Truck Parts in Eagan. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janet; children, Deborah Keeton, David (Dawn) Rotz; grandchildren, Crystal, Christopher (Alicia), and Julie Rotz, Allen, Alex, and Ariel Keeton; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Anneliese, Scarlett, and Thatcher Rotz, Logan and Daniel Keeton; siblings Jim (Amy), Louie, Tim (Nancy), Karen (Mike) Davis, Janice (Ken) Benjamin, John (Marcia),Tom (Jeannie), Tony (Rosie), George (Denise) Margaret (Dean) Bitner, Kathy (Ted) Mlejnek, Lori (Kal) Srnsky. Preceded in death by brother Dick and sister Mary Louise Rotz.
Due to COVID-19, the funeral service will be private.
Dear Janet, Debbie, David and family,
It was sad to turn to the obituaries and see Gabe’s familiar face that I remembered well from my childhood. Thoughts of his laugh, his helpfulness and his stopping over for a friendly cup of coffee linger on in my mind. He was one of the “neighborhood Dads,” and that meant something different back then. He will be remembered long after his passing. I send my love and hugs to you all, and wish times were different with this dumb Covid, so I could give that hug in person!
