Garey W. Hedlund age 78 of Richfield. Preceded in death by parents, Lloyd and Irene Hedlund and special canine, Annie. Survived by loving wife of 51 years, Nancy; children, Wanda (Tim) Klaers, Jason Hedlund, Molly (Larry) Leskovec; grandchildren, Alex, Allison and Kayla; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Paula) and Cabot (Kris); sister, Susan (Don).
A visitation celebrating Garey will be held on Saturday, November 5th from 11am-12:30pm at Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel, 6527 Portland Ave. S. Richfield. Private interment at Ft. Snelling.
“He loved life and vacationing near the ocean with family. Always spoke with no filter; and yes, that got him into some trouble, but that’s why we loved him.”
A luncheon will be held immediately after the visitation at the VFW #5555, 6715 Lakeshore Drive, Richfield, MN 55423.
Memorials may be directed to the family or to the donor’s favorite animal rescue.

Molly, I’m so very sorry for the loss of your dad. You two had such a special relationship. I’m praying for your comfort in this time of unbearable grief. Much love to you, Larry, and your family from John and me. We’ll be keeping you in our prayers.
Garey was a special cousin, always enjoyed our times together in St Cloud.

So sad to hear of Garey’s passing even though I was aware he was ill.
I enjoyed his Facebook posts of family and vacations and his sense of humor. We are always hoping there will be more time. You are all in my thoughts. I know he will be missed.
