  1. Barbara Devlin says:

Gertrude was a wonderful next door neighbor and friend. Her devotion to family, love for literature and learning, and active engagement in civic and political affairs served as a model for us all. Gertrude’s life personified the Rotary Club motto, “Service Above Self.” We will miss her greatly and extend our deepest sympathies to her family.

  2. Daniel Willems says:

I only met my Aunt Gertrude a few times, but she made a lasting impression. I found her to be kind and intelligent. As a child, she treated me with respect and interacted with me as a thinking being, which is not a given with most adults. We bonded over our love of art and “The Hobbit” and the “Lord of the Rings” books by JRR Tolkein. She was a special lady.
