James N. Van Bergen, age 78 of Richfield. Born November 18th, 1935 and passed away on January 16, 2014. Graduated from Vocational High School in 1953 and proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1953-1957. 32-year member of American Legion Post 435 and life member of VFW Post 6587. James worked as a printer for 19 years, drove truck locally for 22 years and the Handicap Van for 14 years. Preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor; parents, Albert and Tillie; brothers, Irvin and Richard; sister, Joan Sandlin; sister-in-law, Margaret Van Bergen; brothers-in-law, Minor Haugen, Sandy Sandlin and Tony (Polock) Klimek. Survived by wife, Barbara; daughter, Kristin (Ed) Sieve; sons, Brian Van Bergen and Bradley (Renee) Van Bergen; and his sister, Lois Haugen; grandchildren, Natalie, Jacqueline and Rose Sieve; Jamie, Kaye, Sydney and Maxwell Van Bergen; 5 stepchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
