In Loving Memory: Jane Wiederholt
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jane Wiederholt, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She peacefully left this world on June 10, at the age of 75, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. While we mourn her loss, we take solace in the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
Jane was welcomed to heaven by her parents Darwin & Mary Beulke, brothers John and Jim, and son Birch. She is survived by husband Richard Wiederholt, daughter Gretchen (Steve), son Richard (Danielle), son Charlie (Mandy), daughter Mary (Tanner), and grandchildren Landon, Nona, and Avery.
A speaker of multiple languages and world traveler; in her younger years Jane fearlessly travelled through Europe and the former Soviet Union and in her later years conquered the outback of Australia. From the bottom of the Grand Canyon to the mountains of New Zealand, Jane embraced the sense of adventure in her heart.
Professionally, Jane wore many hats working as a librarian, paralegal, law editor and more. Jane considered herself a lifelong Girl Scout, putting her skills to use in nature building campfires and embracing the outdoors. As a lover of learning she was an avid reader and sharer of knowledge. It is with fondness that we remember her love of baking, knowing she would never forget that extra bit of chocolate. We remember her delight for her furry companions, most recently Gatsby. We remember her ability to stay connected to those she loved, no matter the physical distance.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported them during this difficult time. The outpouring of love, prayers, and comforting words has been a source of strength. Jane's family appreciates the kind messages, shared memories, and the presence of friends near and far.
A memorial service to celebrate Jane's life will take place at 11:00 am on Monday, June 26, 2023 with visitation 1 hour prior at Morris Nilsen Chapel in Richfield, Minnesota. In the meantime, the family encourages everyone to hold onto their cherished memories of Jane and continue to honor her by living life with kindness, compassion, and a sense of joy. In lieu of flowers, Jane asked that donations be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) or Caringbridge.
In honor of Jane, let us celebrate her remarkable life and the love she shared with us. May her memory be a source of comfort and strength, and may her beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.

Jane and I first met when she replaced me as librarian at Bain Elementary School when our family moved to Florida. We then met several more times over the years upon our return and she was always so positive, joyful, energetic and kind. Upon reading the many wonderful messages from her long time friends in so many places, it was evident of the great person she was. Her adventures and experiences were so wonderful to read about. Jane was a beloved friend from grade school at St. John’s (working together in the library on Saturday mornings); Mounds View (double dating with the Beggin twins); Girl Scouts, and St. Kate’s. Though our paths diverged after that, we re-connected through singing together in the Mounds View Alumnae Choir and celebrating our October birthdays together over lunch. I am shocked and saddened by her passing. She was a beautiful spirit with a beautiful smile. My sympathy to all who loved her.
Jane was my first crush. I knew her as Jane Beulke when we both attended St. John the Baptist grade school in New Brighton. More recently, we met for lunch before her move to Wisconsin. Unbeknownst to either of us, we both brought along our SJB class pictures to view and identify as many classmates as we could. I guess we both liked cataloguing and recordkeeping. I’ll miss her.
