Joan Smith Formanek, age 86, of Richfield. Survived by children, Raymond, Jr., Dale, Pam (Steve) McFarlan, David and James (Sheree); grandchildren, Megan (Jon) Hanson and Matthew McFarlan; step-grandchildren, Tara (Tim) McGregor, Gina (Jake) Skluzacek and Lisa (Nick) Dalager; great-grandchildren, Liam, Lincoln, Leland and Luca; step-great-grandchildren, Ethan, Amelia, Preston, Sophia, Kate and Remy; sisters-in-law, Luella and Marion Formanek; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, Sr.; her parents, Harold, Sr. and Mary Smith; and a brother, Harold Smith, Jr.
The family lost a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a best friend. A member of Hope Presbyterian Church in Richfield, MN for over 50 years, Joan was a member of several prayer groups and prayed for those seeking comfort and guidance daily. In High School, her friends called her "St. Joan of Arc". They weren't too far off the mark.
