Joyce R. Vogen - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

April 14, 1938 - March 24, 2024


Joyce R. Vogen, of Minneapolis, passed away unexpectedly on March 24, 2024, due to an Aortic Dissection Tear (Aneurysm). Joyce was born to Ray
and Florence Vogen on April 14, 1938, in Minneapolis. Despite being born with a developmental disability; Joyce lived an independent life with the
guidance and support of her family. In the 1950s, she attended Opportunity Workshop, where she learned essential life skills. Joyce worked for many years at the Star Tribune and NSP cafeterias in downtown Minneapolis before retiring.

She is survived by her nieces and nephew, Jodi Kirkpatrick (Kevin), Forest Vogen and Samantha Vogen. Also survived by great nieces and nephews,
Danny, Jayson, Makaela, Adam, Alex, Gitana & Joseph, and sister-in-laws, Sue and Bonnie.

Preceded in death by her father, Ray; mother, Florence; brother, Jay; great-niece, Gypsy; and her dogs, Daisy and Brandy.

A heartfelt thank you to The Pines Assisted Living for providing daily support, care, and a family atmosphere that allowed Joyce to live with dignity. Your kindness will always be remembered and appreciated. We also extend our gratitude to the Richfield Paramedics and M Health Fairview Southdale ER for their care and professionalism during Joyce's final hours.

Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
