Karen M. Frosig, age 80, of Apple Valley, formerly of Richfield, passed away on August 28, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Gertie Ingeman of Cannon Falls, MN. Survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Gil; daughters, Carol Johnson and Diane Frosig; granddaughters, Lindsey and Amy Johnson; as well as many other relatives and friends.
The family wishes to thank the 8th floor staff at Southdale Hospital, Fairview Hospice and the Lodge on Summit Oaks.

I was lucky enough to grow up next door to Karen and Gil. She once told me that when she went to bed, she could sometimes hear me in the laughing in my livingroom and it made her happy. Karen’s warmth, humor, and kindness made me happy every day.

While I was surfing the Internet for another obituary, I ran across the obituary for Karen. You have never met me; however, I met Karen in the fall of 1950 when she and her friend Sarah Larson entered Mankato Commercial College. My friend Ruth Steiner Blakely and I entered the same date and took a desk in front of Karen and Sarah. We introduced ourselves and the four of us began hanging out together. For quite a few years, Karen and I exchanged Christmas letters but eventually lost contact. Please know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers and I am sharing your grief. Karen was a very nice person.
