Louise Randall (Alford) - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

March 19, 1942 - October 28, 2023

Louise Alford was born March 19, 1942, to Mary and Charles Alford.

Louise, the oldest of three children, was a lovely, sweet child that had a heart for serving others even at an early age. Through her early years, Louise was an active, well-behaved young lady. She spent much of her time engaged in school and church activities. Louise loved learning and spent many of her days with her family and close friends. Ultimately Louise’s love of learning led her to attend the University of Cincinnati where she met Rufus Simmons with whom she had four children during the 1960’s.

Upon her marriage and births of her children, Louise was destined to fulfill her life’s calling as an extraordinary woman, mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many.

Louise loved being a mother. She fully embraced every aspect of it. In this capacity, Louise was able to shower her love and attention on her children. Her life’s joy was fully embracing every aspect of motherhood. Louise did everything from cooking gourmet meals for her family to even learning to sew where she made beautiful clothes for her young children. Louise also transferred her love of learning and service to her children. She often would volunteer them to join her in giving back through food drives, UNICEF fundraisers, participation in Brownies and Girl scouts, church activities and more. Louise had a heart of gold and was always finding time to share her kindness and grace with others.

If being an amazing mother wasn’t enough, anyone that knew Louise knows that she was a woman of style and flair. Louise, a beautiful woman, was always dressed from head to toe. When Louise entered a room, you always knew she was there. Her presence would fill a room with beauty and joy.
And if you think Louise was simply a girlie girl, you are mistaken. Louise was also a master fisherman. She would delight in spending a day with her family where she could out fish anyone around her.

Louise lived an extraordinary life. The lives that she touched expand well beyond the love that she gave to her family. She developed close relationships with her friends at Crossroads Church, the hospital where she was employed for many years and other social settings. Louise profoundly touched the lives of her friends, coworkers, and all that had the privilege to know her. We are all blessed to have been loved by her.

Louise’s legacy of love includes her daughters, Kim Waller, and Janine Lukes. Her sons, Lee Simmons, and Scot Simmons. Her grandsons, Jordan Austin, Tony Waller, and Cooper Simmons. Her granddaughters, DaNae Ticey, Karissa Nguyen, Fredricka Simmons, Tayah Benson, and Gabby Simmons. Her great grandchildren Camden Nguyen, and Aubrey Austin. Her grandchildren-in-laws Kristina Austin, Jeremy Ticey and Randy Nguyen. Her brother Tony Alford and Sister in Law Gladys Alford. Her ex-husband and best friend Rufus Simmons and many more.

Thank you, Karen, Ironically, she spoke about you as well. I had pictures of you and mom that I put in a frame on the walls of her bedroom. You meant everything to her and while away from us in Minnesota, you and others became her family as well as Tony, Gladys Kenya and Michelle. I thank you all for bringing her into your lives!
