My heart brakes a million times over with the passing of my friend and shipmate. Mark and I became life long friends somewhere in south east Asia in March of 1976. We remained friends since then. There 6 or 7 of us who remain friends to this day, bonds that are impossible to break. I was fortunate to have had a few days visit here in Rochester, NY in the summer of 2019. We had a blast with music, baseball and good times for those three days. Amongst our close group of 6 Mark and I were the Liberal bastions and according to us we won every argument. I was affectionately called a Bolshevik. Mark and I were the Liberal school teachers amongst our friends. We had a lot of laughs. I am going to miss our talks about music and politics as well as our profession. I am a better person for having fate allowing our paths to cross all those years ago. Be well my friend. Rest easy. I will see you in the next world and I won’t be late. Love ya.

Tapper was a great man! I had the privilege of working with him at Washburn High School. He will be missed but never forgotten!

OMG! I am in shock! I just heard this news. Not sure if anyone is going to see this but going to post anyways. Mark was an amazing human who helped so many. His passion and talent in working with youth was remarkable. My heart aches for Sue and the kids. He was someone who I looked to in the youth work field. He helped countless kids find their way.
