Mary Anne (née, Taylor) Olson, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Mount Olivet Careview Home in Minneapolis, MN. She had been lovingly cared for by the staff of Mount Olivet since October 2021.

Born October 24, 1942, in San Diego, CA to Angeline (née, Ruud) and John Daniel Taylor, Mary Anne grew up in a Navy family and moved frequently. She attended Southwest High School and Richfield High School, graduating from Richfield in 1960. After high school, she attended St. Cloud State University before moving to Boston.

Mary Anne met David at a party in January of 1971. They were married on October 15, 1971 and enjoyed 52 wonderful years of marriage.

She later worked at Richfield Middle School in the school lunch program and as a paraprofessional in the library. In her spare time, Mary Anne busied herself with volunteer work, offering countless hours to her kids’ schools and activities and the Richfield Historical Society.

After retirement, their summer travels took them to several Scenic Byways which they traveled from start to finish, including the Great River Road, Blue Ridge Parkway, Natchez Trace, Route 66, and the Oregon Trail.

Together Mary Anne and David spent 13 winters at Sundance RV Resort in Casa Grande, Arizona, where Mary Anne kept busy by taking ceramics and Hula Dancing classes. She even performed in the Sundance Variety Show!
