Matt K. Brust - Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel

October 9, 1984 - May 29, 2021

Matt Brust was born in St. Louis Park, MN, on October 9, 1984, to Betty and Robert Brust. He was the second of four sons, preceded by brother Dan and followed by brothers Robby and Travis. Matt graduated from Dunwoody College of Technology in 2007 and worked for Sedgwick as a senior HVAC technician.

Matt loved the outdoors; he was always ready to go for a hike or a bike ride, or to take his dog, Stella, to the dog park for Frisbee. He loved to travel, from taking road trips to more extravagant vacations. Even though driving meant taking the long way, Matt enjoyed the journey. He and his girlfriend, Katie, frequently explored the many natural gems of Minnesota, often going off the beaten path with Stella to find lesser-known beautiful places.

Matt could always be relied upon to go above and beyond for his friends, family, coworkers, and customers. He loved to spend time with his loved ones, including playing with his niece and nephew. Matt enjoyed the company of his many friends and could always be found making someone laugh.

Matt passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert. Matt’s memory will be cherished by his mom, Betty; his brothers Dan (Lynn), Robby, and Travis; his niece, Abby, and nephew, Sam; his girlfriend, Katie; and his many friends, relatives, and coworkers.
