Reawatie Daphnie Gopaul

November 17, 1934 - March 6, 2026

“The soul is neither born, nor does it ever die.”
— Krishna, Bhagavad Gita

Om Shanti, Shanti, Shanti
May there be peace in the body, mind, and spirit.

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt peacefully departed this world on March 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of strength, resilience, and devotion to her family.

She was born on November 17, 1934, in Canal #1, West Bank, Guyana, and later after marriage made her home at Lot 1 Dell Street in Campbellville, Georgetown. Proud of her Guyanese roots, she carried the warmth, determination, and strong spirit of her homeland throughout her life.

In her early years, she worked at the Honeybee Farm in the Botanical Gardens in Guyana, which supplied honey to the administration of former Guyanese President Forbes Burnham. With the support of her brother Paul Ramlogan, she immigrated to the United States in 1974, first settling in Maryland in search of greater opportunities for her family. Her final move was to Minnesota in 1979.

A strong-willed and determined Guyanese immigrant, and through perseverance and hard work, she later dedicated 30 years of service as a clerk at Blue Cross Blue Shield before retiring. Her strength, independence, and unwavering commitment to family defined the life she built. She was greatly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

She leaves her cherished loving children: Seeta, Shanta, Ramesh, Chandra, Nadia, Dinesh, and Amy.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Angela, Navin, Alan, Alisha, Soma, Venessa, Rachelle, Anthony, Catherine, Ryan, Michael, Joshua, Justin, Jasmin, and Jacob.

She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Emma, Daniel, Noah, Dan Jr., Krishna, Drew, Lukesh, Vijay, Sanaa, Corbin, Suhana, and Serenity, each carrying forward a part of her spirit and legacy.

She is survived by her sister Una Dookhan, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews including Muni Ram, Mala, Leela, Rosie, Pradeep , Gayatri, Geeta, Nav, Suraj, Dolly, Omkar, Nalini, Pam, Yvette, Roy, Clement, and Debbie along with other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Gopaul, parents Shadai Ramlogan and Paul Ramlogan, her children Lukesh and Vidya, her sister Gold, and her brothers Kesho, Paul, and David Ramlogan.

She will be remembered for her strength, determination, and the deep love she carried for her family. Her legacy lives on in the generations she raised and the many lives she touched.

The lord gives and takes and do not give us more than we can bear. Aunt Daph was a mother to me and a great inspiration for me to become who I am today.

We are sad to know the end was so sudden . She cherished us with unconditional love & kindness from birth to present. Speaking to her about two weeks ago , her last words, Perkey (my nickname from my childhood days given by her) love you and will speak to you soon- ok bab!

My Mom is the only survivor of the Ramlogans now. Time waits on no one .Her birth place, Canal #1, to George Town Guyana and finally USA

She lived a very humble, humane & successful life and leave no stone unturned. A mother to every one who cross path with her. She is following the light to the end of the tunnel now.
Aunty Daph until we meet again!
